Reviewing your application
You will receive confirmation by email or post that we have received your application.
We will look over the bid to ensure that:
- It meets the criteria
- You have included a budget
- You have included references
- You have included bank details of the organisation that will hold the funds
If any of these are missing we will contact you BEFORE 10th September. Therefore if you wait until the deadline we will not contact you and your application will be disregarded.
We will inform you if your application is disregarded for being incomplete or not meeting the criteria. You may then be able to apply to the next round of funding.
If your application is complete and meets the criteria you will be invited to a Community Voting Day on Saturday 29th September 2018, where you can display your idea, pictures, stats etc. You can talk to people about what you want to do.
You will also have the opportunity to give a very short presentation, 3 minutes, on your project. Remember there is a limited amount of funds, you will want to make sure that you really sell your project to the voters.
- Voting will take place on the day.
Only residents of Mottingham Big Local Refocused area will be voting to select their preferred projects.
- Residents must bring proof of address in order to vote.
- There will be no age restrictions, children and young people who are resident in Mottingham will also be encouraged to vote.
It is essential that you book your place at our Community Voting day to present your idea to the residents of MBLR. If you do not attend the residents will not vote on your application. So book your place now Book Here
What happens if the grants chosen go over the amount available?
There is a budget of £40,000. The presentations with the most votes will receive their grants.
If there are insufficient funds for the final winning project to receive all of money applied for they will be offered a reduced grant. However, we will implement a ‘Give Back’ opportunity, e.g. if the top 8 successful applications total £39,100 and the 9th most popular project is asking for £1700, there will only be £900.
We will ask the successful projects if they would like to ‘give back’ a small part of their grant as a contribution towards this. This is not obligatory.
Step 5: Formal Offer of Grant
If you have been selected to receive a grant we will contact you with a formal offer. You will need to sign and return this. This will include your commitment to record all financial transactions and monitor community involvement and outcomes
Step 6: Celebrating Success and Being an Inspiration
At the end of the projects we will hold an event to show what you have achieved through your Mottingham Big Local Refocused Community Grant.
This will be your opportunity to shine, celebrate and inspire others to do something.
What if we are not successful?
If your project or idea doesn’t receive funding we are happy to meet with you to look at why. It might be that it just wasn’t the right thing at that time, or maybe you left out important information. If you meet the criteria you will be encouraged to apply again.
